Express Scribe is the easiest transcription program I have ever used! Although I couldn't get my foot pedal to work -- no problem! Using the keystroke buttons to control the dictation is there to the rescue. The learning curve is about less than 5 mins. I am recommending this to my friends at work, personal and people I network with on Facebook!

So far works great! I use an Infinity USB foot control, and ESTP 5.01 integrated with it with no problem. ESTP 5.01 seems just as good as the "leading brand" software we've been using, and now see no reason to keep using. Thanks!

Hi, my AVG Internet Security flagged this program up as containing a trojan. I don't think it does (it hasn't tried to connect to the internet), have tried it and have been very happy with it. It does all it says on the tin and lets you use the controls whilst typing in word (it uses F keys to speed up, slow down, fast forward etc.).

The audio was great. I have used this software for a few years now - I am a scopist - but for whatever reason when I installed it on a laptop with Vista 64-bit system I kept getting a message that the computer could not find drivers for the pedal. I do not have a generic pedal.

I would love to use it again, if I can bet that problem resolved.

This is a very simple-to-use yet handy program. You can play various audio files and then use a foot petal or keyboard to control multiple playback functions. You can speed up and slow down the audio. It looks like there's other stuff I haven't even tried yet. It was very easy to set up and very fast to get going. Thanks!

I want to play wave files for MT

I am doing medical transcription as homebased. I downloaded express scribe but I cannot play some wave files for medical transcription jobs and asking for codec compression have to install. Please tell me what I have to do and which version I want to do.

One day`s experience

This product worked pretty well "out of the box". I loaded it easily and began work within minutes. Not all the features work, though. Although I could slow down the speed and keep the pictch normal, I could only do it throuh the onscreen interface and not through the function keys as is described. However, the progrm works pretty well, absolutely great for a free program. I have not yet tried it with a foot pedal. I suspect that for someone who uses this on a somewhat casual basis, this program is more than adequate. For a professional transcriber, this might not be the answer. However, for transcribing the occasional 1-2 hour interview, which is my need, I am very pleased and I may even be able to get the function keys working if I work at it.

Unable to play dss files with express scribe

I tried to play some dss files with express scribe (version 4.23) but could not do so even though NCH claims that their application does play all dss formats like olympus, etc.

Easy and Intuitive

Very happy with the intuitive and functional interface. Easy to use. Has extra functions if needed, but not complicated to learn. I compared trial versions of a number of competing transcription software products but decided to use this one and have no regrets.

Seems good

This program seems to work good with hot keys. Would like to get foot pedal to try it that way. Have had some problems understanding some settings. Overall, easy to install and use.
